MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Accreditation is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme, supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. The MCS assesses renewable energy installers and products against robust criteria in order to protect the end consumer.
*The government backed Biomass Tariff is adjusted annually in line with inflation, subject to a satisfactory domestic EPC (Energy Performance Certificate.) Payments are calculated over a 20 year term, but are paid to the end user over 7 years.
The wood pellets used as Biomass fuel are classed as sustainable or ‘carbon neutral’ as they can be sourced from managed forests. The sawdust used to make them is a bi-product of the timber industry.
